Hornist Christian-Friedrich Dallmann joins the faculty of 2009 Euro Music Festival Leipzig.
His horn class will be open on July 27 - 31 during the 1st Session.

Born in Karlsburg in Germany, Christian-Friedrich Dallmann learned recorder and piano for 5 years as
the first instruments. In 1971, he graduated from Spezialschule für Musik Berln, the special high school for young musicians. From 1973 to 1975, he served in the Army as a member of marching band.
He studied horn at the Hochschule für Musik “Hanns Eisler” Berlin, with Prof. Kurt Palm.
He won the first prize at the Markneukirchen International Music Competition in 1978.
For 23 years from 1978 to 2000, he had been the first solo hornist at the Berliner Sinfonieorchester,
the biggest symphony orchestra in East Berlin.
Also as a member of the Berliner Oktett for 9 years until 1986, he had numerous concert tours and
He was a faculty member of the Bach-Collegium Stuttgart and the Academy for Ancient Music Berlin.
In 1998, he was an assistant professor of the Internationale Bachakademie Stuttgart. And he was a faculty member of the Akademit für Kammermusik Nirdersachsen in 1998.
In 1999-2002, he had been an assistant professor of the Arabic Israeli Youth Orchestra that Daniel Barenboim conducted. In 1999, he was a visiting professor for horn at the University of Arts Berlin. In 2000, he became a professor for horn at the University of Music Detmold.
In 2005, he was an assistant professor of the Simon Bolivar Orchestra in Caracas.
Since 2004, he is a professor for horn at the University of Arts Berlin succeeding Prof. Gerd Seifert.
His students has won prizes in horn international competitions such as Geneva, Prag, München ARD, Markneukirchen, Porcia, Warschau, etc.
Christian-Friedrich Dallmann has been invited as jury to important international horn competitions.
